Molly Sumridge CDBC, CPDT-KSA

Molly Sumridge (Sumner) CDBC, CPDT-KSA, CFE, is the owner and founder of Kindred Companions LLC a dog training company in Frenchtown NJ. She is a Certified Dog Behavior Consultant and has a deep passion for the human animal bond. It is her vision to make dog training a life changing experience for dog and owner alike.

Though she has been training dogs for well over a decade, Molly is constantly increasing her education. Since starting her career, Molly has earned over 10 certifications.  Molly also served on the Board of Directors for the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants, where she has helped shape the profession of animal behavior consulting. Today Molly is pursuing a Master's Degree in Anthrozoology.

It is her passion and curiosity for primitive dogs that ignited her interest in behavior and training, and propelled her on a whirlwind journey into bettering the lives of owners and dogs around the world. She believes there is no better teacher than the dog in front of her, because every dog has an important voice, a valid reason, and a personal identity.  Always wanting to make a difference, Molly helps owners and their dogs via one-on-one instruction, video consultations, blog articles, and seminars.

Molly resides in Frenchtown NJ with her loving husband, patient parrot, and a cast of colorful canine characters. When not working with her clients  she can be found in the dog sports rings with her Shibas and New Guinea Singing Dog, doing Canicross on the trails with her Tibetan Mastiff, or in her office finishing her first book on primitive dog ownership and training, inspired by passion for everyone to have a successful and immersive relationship with their primitive breed dogs.

Her passion for dog training doesn't stop at clients and their dogs but also extends to her fellow colleagues. In addition to working with pet owners, Molly also works with pet professionals struggling with burnout and  the occupational hazard known as Compassion Fatigue. Molly sees the personal drain that caring so deeply for animals can have on professionals. She has dedicated a significant part of her career to learning about how to help her colleagues better their business and themselves. In addition to her dog training education, she is also a Certified Compassion Fatigue Educator, QPR Gatekeeper, and Online Suicide Prevention Specialist.
